Nestled in the picturesque village of Wall amidst the stunning Northumberland countryside, Restaurant Hjem is a culinary gem that marries the best of Northumbrian produce with Scandinavian culinary traditions. The name "Hjem" (pronounced "yem") is derived from both Northumbrian and Scandinavian languages, meaning "home". This aptly reflects the restaurant's ethos of creating a warm, welcoming space where guests can enjoy exceptional food crafted with care and expertise.
Founded by Swedish chef Alex Nietosvuori and his wife, Northumberland native Ally Thompson, Restaurant Hjem represents the culmination of their shared passion for food and hospitality. Their dream project brings together the finest ingredients from Northumberland with the culinary techniques and values of Scandinavia.

Restaurant Hjem partnered with Forward Space and 2812 Studio to elevate its online presence and showcase its unique offerings through bespoke content creation. As part of a monthly package, the teams at Forward Space and 2812 Studio travel to Hjem to capture the essence of the restaurant and its culinary creations.

Aston Martin x Restaurant Hjem
In a unique collaboration between Restaurant Hjem and Aston Martin, the two brands joined forces to create an unforgettable event that combined luxury automobiles with exquisite cuisine. The occasion marked the launch of the DB12, with customers and VIPs invited to experience the best of the North East as they drove around Northumberland.
Teaming up with our production brand, 2812, Forward Space was on hand to document the occasion at the restaurant. It was an incredible opportunity to meet the guests and Aston Martin staff, as well as admire the stunning machines on display. The photos captured during the event were used across Aston Martin and Hjem's social channels, showcasing the synergy between fine dining and automotive excellence.

As part of our film series ‘Excellence’, commissioned by Viberg Boot, Forward Space and our production brand, 2812 Studio, embarked on a journey to explore individuals pushing the boundaries in their respective fields. Bound intrinsically by their pursuit of excellence and aligned brand values, the series aims to showcase those who continually strive for superior results.
The first instalment, 001, features head chef Alex Nietosvuri of Restaurant Hjem, whose commitment to excellence was recently acknowledged when the restaurant retained its 1 Michelin star. Directed by our creative director, Ben Benoliel, the film delves into Chef Alex's passion for culinary artistry and his dedication to crafting exceptional dining experiences.
